Abstract: The place where a writer lives has a far-reaching effect on their writing and personal experiences. The essay starts from accepting the view that Bath has a huge influence on Austen’s writing. Based on the life the writer spent in Bath as well as her works, the essay explores how Bath influences the writer’s life experience, her understanding of the society she lived, her family life, her emotional world and her writing style, etc.. It is hoped to help readers learn more about Jane Austen’s emotional bond to Bath and have a further understanding of her works.
