Some Problems about the Western Region War in theDunhuang Majuanwan Slips of Han Dynasty

Abstract: The Dunhuang Majuanwan slips of Han dynasty provide new information about Wang Mang Western war; these slips cover all aspects of the war, and provide the wealth of materials for the study of relevant historical in depth understanding of the real historical facts, which open up us new horizons, confirm the literature, and make up for deficiencies in the literature. So using these materials involving key issues is very significant, such as the starting time of the war, failure reasons of the Wang Mangs army, the composition of the coalition forces and the reasons why this event was not recorded in Huns Biography.
