Abstract: In the middle and late Tang Dynasty, ancient prose and parallel prose once again entered a period of changing roles. Li Shangyin started with ancient prose but earned a living by parallel prose. His writing experience of ancient prose had the merits of early education and was influenced by the micro-factors of the trend of ancient prose in late Tang Dynasty. The experience of changing parallel prose from ancient prose was the embodiment of Lishangyins stylistic view of respecting ancient prose and supplementing parallel prose.
