Abstract: There are 12 novels written by Gu Sui preserved so far. The theme orientation of these novels can be divided into four categories: the love of the family life; the analyses on individual human nature; the expression of the goals of governance of the country; the description of people’s suffering life. The evolution of the theme orientation is related to Gu Sui’s life experience,and reflects the author’s continuous thinking about socialife.
