Abstract: The problem of art needs to be restored to the problem of human beings, and the search for the origin of art needs to be restored to the place where human beings began aesthetic activities. At present, the earliest known picture frame appeared in the form of drawing in the Bronze Age when human beings walked out of obscurity and entered civilization. The drawn picture frame has artificially framed the viewing behavior, which means that the hidden artistic factors have been separated from the primitive witchcraft and labor. The interaction between people and images has changed from witchcraft ritual to subject object viewing, and the function of images has changed from witchcraft that attempts to control reality to visual narrative that is close to what people understand today. The drawn picture frame is the expression of the transformation of peoples demarcation thinking from subconsciousness to consciousness, creating a distance between life and images, making it possible for drawing to transcend practical functions and form a free and conscious aesthetic activity, and is a key sign for art to break away from witchcraft ceremony and become an independent visual cultural department. Therefore, the appearance of drawn frame can be used as a sign of the initial formation of art.
