Abstract: Wei Zhuang is one of the most important writers in the literature history of the late Tang and Five Dynasties. Because of his poor family, his father and grandfather are not written in history. According to the relevant literature, tabooed names of ancestors and Wei Zhuang’s poems, the paper considers Wei Zhuang belongs to Xiaoyao House, and is Wei Yingwu’s fourth offspring, not the offspring of Wei Jiansu. By researching the epitaphs of Wei Yingwu couple and Wei Qingfu couple, Wei family tradition and other historical materials, the paper questions Wei Houfu, recorded in “New Book of Tang，Prime Minister Genealogical Table” Wei Qingfu are the same person.
