Abstract: As the most highlight power of the banking system in China, the city commercial banks play an important role in the servicing regional economic development. This study chooses some evaluation indexes in a narrow sense to analyze the market competition condition of the city commercial banks in recent years. Results show that compared with the large commercial banks, joint-stock commercial banks and agricultural commercial banks, city commercial banks have obvious advantages in deposit and lending interest rates, asset growth and asset structure, and profitability, and the comprehensive strength ranks first. Facing the current increasingly complex economic and financial environment, the city commercial banks should take the initiative to adapt to the new situation, and use idea innovation to shift the development model.
