Abstract: In order to provide “Revival of Confucianism” a valuable theoretical basis, Huang Yushun puts forward the concept of “Life Confucianism” through which to reconstruct the Confucian metaphysics based on “life”, carrying on the original Confucianism, and borrowing the modern western philosophical thought. For Huang, “To Be is Life, Life is To Be” is the basic proposition for his “Life Confucianism” which is constructed by the three steps, which are “decipher”, “regress” and “construct” and the three ideas which are “generate”, “lay a foundation”, and “realm”. Furthermore he constructs not only the “foundation of ideas” from “life source” to “metaphysical” and to “physics”, but also the “promotion of realm” from “physics” to “metaphysical”and to “life source”, and then it forms a self sufficient theoretical system. The system’s difference from the traditional metaphysics is that it is rooted because of being based on “life source”; however the traditional metaphysics is unrooted because of the “forgetting of to be”.
