Abstract: In the information age,Chinese characters have undergone an unprecedented major change since their formation:the presentation of glyphs has changed from stroke-by-stroke handwriting to whole-character keyboard input;the writing tool has changed from a pen to a keyboard;the writing carrier has changed from paper to a digital terminal.These essential changes will definitely influence the relationship between Chinese characters and human being.While Chinese glyphs becomes more stable,peoples handwriting will become noticeably weaker;thus Chinese character standardization will shift from glyphs to phrases and mainly meet the need of information processing,which brings about a closer relationship between characters and Pinyin.
