The Dilemmas and Solutions of Professional Guidance for Rotating Teachers from the Perspective of Interaction Ritual Chains

Abstract: Teacher exchange and rotation is an important measure taken by the state to promote the balanced development of compulsory education and the fairness of education quality.Relying on the professional guidance of rotating teachers to drive the professional growth of incoming teachers and the endogenous development of the school is the profound value implication of the exchange rotation policy.Professional guidance can be seen as an interactive ritual between rotating teachers and incoming teachers in micro educational contexts.By applying the theory of interactive ritual chains to examine the interactive process mechanism of professional guidance for participating subjects,it can be found that there are some implicit dilemmas,namely,the weakening of the guidance interaction situation due to the physical and mental withdrawal of rotating teachers,the dispersion of common focus caused by the heterogeneity of participating subjects,the lack of positive emotional sharing due to poor interaction between both parties,the lack of exclusive time and space,and the unclear rights and responsibilities of rotating teachers leading to blurred external boundaries.To this end,the following strategies can be adopted to solve the dilemma of professional guidance for rotating teachers:deepening the recognition of the value of teacher rotation and promoting the return of professional guidance subjects;building a teacher professional development community and achieving a common vision for student growth;improving the professional leadership competence of rotating teachers and promoting positive emotional sharing between both parties;institutionalizing and regulating professional guidance,and strengthening the awareness of subject rights and responsibilities.
