Abstract: “People” is an important category of historical materialism.As a “category”,it is put forward and endowed with scientific connotation,which has gradually become clear and prominent only after the human history enters the “world history”.Based on the laws of historical development and using class analysis as a method,Marx placed the “people” in the paradigm of historical materialism,emphasizing the reality,class,progress and integrity of the people.The “people” take the working masses as the main body,with the standard of promoting social development and complying with historical trends.At the ontological level,they are the bearers of productive labor and the creators of social wealth.At the political level,they are the owners of state power;at the historical level,they are the promoters of social development;and at the class level,they are representatives of the revolutionary class and class interests.The Communist Party of China has inherited,enriched and innovated the scientific connotation of Marxs “people” category.In the practice of continuously promoting the great social revolution,it adheres putting to the people first,stands firm on the position of the people,relies on the strength of the people,promotes the sharing of the people,and finally realizes the happiness of the people.
