Abstract: Rapid advancement of strategic emerging industries makes higher demand for senior engineering and scientific talents, and the quality of engineering doctoral education is connected with the national innovation ability and industrial competitiveness as a bridge between basic research and industrial application.According to a comprehensive survey about 25 pilot universities, combined with the structural analysis of 14 industrial policy texts, this paper deeply analyzes the main problems existing in engineering doctorate training in our country. From the above results,it can be seen that there is a large gap between the training scale and the industrial demand, and the average annual supply and demand gap is increasing.Training modes are disconnected with industrial practices, and enterprises deep participation is insufficient, and training contents lag behind industrial technologies by 3-5 years;enterprises are facing institutional problems such as high cost, little rewards, and great risks.According to the problem orientation, this study has put forward systemic countermeasures such as forming an industrial demand-oriented dynamic mechanism, innovating the cultivation model of in-depth integration of industry and education, constructing a high-quality engineering training internship platform, building a multi-dimensional quality evaluation system, and perfecting the mechanism for incentive enterprise participation in order to provide a theoretical basis and practical path for promoting the development of engineering doctoral education reform and strategic emerging industries in our country.

Key words: doctor of engineering, strategic emerging industries, training model, integration of industry and education
